Why is Liverpool’s new signing Daniel Sturridge so bad?
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a number of high-profile signings for this summer, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Roberto Firmino and Mario Balotelli all on the radar.
With only a handful of players left on their books, the Reds are reportedly looking to bring in a new signing this summer and Daniel Sturrie, the most recent of those players to move on, has already been linked with the club.
However, according to TalkSport, Liverpool’s signing of Sturridge is one of the worst deals in the club’s history, with Sturridge being worth £65 million on his current contract.
Liverpool currently have just £5.6 million left in their budget and have only a small window left in the summer to sign a new player, with new boss Brendan Rodgers having previously said he would not be willing to pay a high fee for one.
Despite having the most expensive squad in the Premier League, the team currently sit sixth in the table, with a place in the play-offs on the line if they manage to avoid relegation.
