When the President says he wants you to get up, move along, move on
The president said he wants the people of Alabama to “move along” in the wake of a sexual assault scandal involving Roy Moore.
Trump tweeted Saturday morning that he wants Alabama voters to vote for Democrat Doug Jones.
But Trump also suggested that Moore is unfit to be a US senator because he has a history of making false accusations.
Moore’s campaign denied the allegations, saying they were “completely false.”
Moore, a former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, is facing Democratic nominee Doug Jones in the November 6 election.
The Alabama Senate Ethics Committee announced Friday that Moore had been cleared by the office of the state attorney general and will face no additional penalties.
Moore has repeatedly denied the accusations.
The Associated Press and ABC News both obtained emails from Moore’s campaign to confirm the claims.
Moore is the former chief judge of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
